Here is a pretty in-depth discussion of the Master Browser service and what it means.
http://www.experts-exchang
But the bottom line is that you only want one M Browser running on the network... In a domain, it is always the DC. If you have 2, then you can turn one of them off....
FE
Ah yes, you must have one running, but it should have switched over automatically... hmmm.
Check out your DNS on your 2nd DC and make sure it is properly configured. It could be the cause... Here are some links that may help you, along with some pointers:
Proper Installation of AD and DNS (example)
http://www.microsoft.com/w
Most problems with AD are related to DNS in some way.
1. Go to your Primary DNS server and make sure that the _MSDCS entries are there for your AD domain, if not then at the domain controller run "IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS" followed by "IPCONFIG /REGISTERDNS" this will put the AD entries back.
2. on your member server installation make sure you can resolve the name of your domain. Do this by running "NSLOOKUP %YOURDOMAINNAMEHERE%". If you get no error messages like "Non-existent domain" then your DNS is probably OK.

Gnart,
My First DC have Dual-Nics but I did disable second nic and using only one.
Fatal_Exception,
I did run NSLOOKUP %YOURDOMAINNAMEHERE command works ok it resolve to first dc and gave me If you get no error messages like "Non-existent domain" message.
please help.....
i am getting 8021 and 8032 probably every one hour.
HELP..............
I thought it was a dual-home that was causing the problem.... remove the NIC if you are not using it.... here is the reference...
http://support.microsoft.c
I had solved same problem that others had posted before...
cheers
As Gnart mentions, the problem probably lies with the dual nic.. On my last server(s) installation. in fact last week, I actually had to pull out the second NIC on all three servers and reinstall. Thankfully, they were virgin machines...:)
Will look forward to Gnart's next post, as it will help me in the future... :)

dma,
Go into the registry and lookup the object to see if _{7B9E8A74-AF3B-4EE7-. is a NIC or the protocol GID. If it's a NIC see which one. What's unusual is that it's coming from the server. Have you introduced any XP or W2K3 into your network? These have higher priorities even with the PRO versions, they will attempt to force election on the primary (W2K) server, once that's done; the primary server will then force the election on other DC.... Disable XP Pro master browsers....
cheers
Yep, if the master browser stops working a secondary must be available to take over... Here is the article:
http://support.microsoft.c
Your problem could be a problem network. The problem may be UDP forwarding by router or switch:
http://support.microsoft.c
I think this problem is more like the UDP. But you should check the master browser settings:

cheers
Okay. There were no comments left and it appears as if this question is still unresolved. Therefore I am going to reduce the points from 500 to zero. I am going to PAQ this question for future reference. If you want to reinvestigate this problem I suggest that you repost your question and put a link back to this PAQ'd question for reference.
Thank you.

Disable master computer browser services on the second DC. You need only one browser running.
