Master Browser

I have a mixed env of Win2k & WinXP Clients and 1 Win2k File Server, NO Domain.

How do I set the Win2k File Server to be the master browser and turn off all clients from being a master browser?

So, would I want to set the Win2k File server to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\Parameters
IsDomainMaster        " YES "
MaintainServerList     " AUTO "

and all clients to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Browser\Parameters
IsDomainMaster        " NO "
MaintainServerList     "  " ( not sure what to set here  )

what does this mean:  MaintainServerList
on the server

IsDomainMaster        " YES "
MaintainServerList     "Yes"

on the clients

IsDomainMaster        "NO"
MaintainServerList     "NO"
Is there a way to verify on both the client and server after I make this change?
I am not sure what you mean but if you set the registry as stated and only the server has the YES and all the other have NO then the server will be the master browser
I figured it out you do a NBTSTAT.
