The code that I refered to in my post goes by the name of XPDec. You should be able to google search for it and download it.
The zip that you download will have an executable and the source code. The executable is a command line exe. If you run it you want to use the "-p" switch.
I dont think this will work with Windows 2000 though because it's ProductID is in a different format as XP. When decoding to get the Installation Product Key you use the registry key DigitalProductID and not the ProductID...
