to install two NICs and give addresses for same network is not healty already.
if you want to make this you better make load balancing with two NICs and use one IP address for them.

Two NIC Card
Hi all,
I just installed an additional New Gigabit Ethernet NIC to my database server. I assign this card with another Static IP Address.
Now I want my user to get the Old NIC IP Address when they try to ping to the host name.
For example, I try to ping [serverhostname] and it give me the old NIC 's IP Address. Now the problem is when I ping to the [serverhostname] it always ping to the new NIC IP Address. I want all my user ping to the old NIC IP Address.

Just go in your DNS admin, and create a new entry for your server name, associated with the IP address. Should do the trick.
