Is this a valid messge? It reads:
"Message from Security Monitor to Windows User on mm/dd/yyyy. Important notice from MSOFT. Buffer overflow in messenger service causes unexpected computer shutdown. Virus infection and remote code expectation. Affected software:
Microsoft Windows NT Workstation
Microsoft Windows NT Server 4.o
Microsoft Windows 2000
Microsoft Windows XP
Microsoft Windows 98
Microsoft Windows Server 2003
Non-Affected Software:
Microsoft Windows Millenium Edition

When you go to this site, it requires $19.95 to download the software. I am skeptical of this, so I have not done anything. I have Windows 2000 and am curious if this is valid or a virus. My system has never shut down.
I've run Adware Away, Spybot, CWS Shredder and AD Ware SE in both SAFE and NORMAL modes and on multiple occasions right after one another to rid my pc of viruses. I've also downloaded 'Hijack This'. Anything that they find, I delete. After running Spybot and Ad Aware SE, the remaining objects that consistently reappear, although "low risk", are DSO Exploit, DoubleClick, Tribalfusion, atdmt and Zo7.net. Are these the cause of anything? But in the end, these Messenger Service pop-ups keep coming back, sometimes 20 at a time.
Additonal pop-ups outside of the Messenger Service ones all pertain to some type of virus on my computer, asking me to visit certain spyware sites that are unfamiliar to me. Furthermore, I get an Error Message that says, "Could not find the Macromedia Flash". This has recently appeared after running spyware removal programs.
I'm ranking this as 500 points only because I have tried so many ways to fix this. Maybe it's not a virus at all. But I need your help! Thanks so much in advance. Please let me know if there's any other information you need from me. Ken
