Browse All Topicsi recently had NO PROBLEMS with my pc but, this morning, i started up my pc after a much needed rest ( i shut it down the night before) i received a message about not being able to find some ocx or dll file needed. i didn't see this before,EVER, so I started it by clicking ok then my desktop & favorites were GONE also, all the quick launch buttons in my task bar were also gone WHAT THE HECK has happened? any help would be GREATLY appreciated
i forgot to mention, that it had created a new folder "administrator.bak" in the documents & settings
it was similar to this upon start up :
"HKLM\..\RunOnce: [Register OCX] regsvr32.exe /s msdxm.ocx"
is this a valid command?

see if u can pull up the machine in a safe mode.. if yes, try to unintsall the media player completely and then restart ur machine.. msdxm.ocx is a file that integrates IE and WMPlayer.. also run a virus scan on your machine..
