The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not?   • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. Windows 2000 Active Directory permissions problem

I recently posted over in the Exchange 2003 Area and a member there suggested that my problem sounds more like a permissions issue. The prior post contains netdiag and dcdiag results, linked below - so I'll just post a brief recap here.

I have a Windows 2000 domain with two DCs. In addition, I have one Windows 2003 machine which only acts as a backup for DNS - if that makes a difference. My account is a member of all the necessary groups (domain/enterprise/schema admins).

I've been trying to install Exchange Server 2003, and I always get the same error at the forestprep stage saying "I do not have permission to modify the schema or the AD service is too busy." In addition, the MMC schema snap-in says I can only view security settings for the schema...

I've never done anything that involved going this deep into AD, but I need to get this working. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
