How to use 'net time /setsntp: <server name>'
An event in the event log of our 2000 server states: "This machine is a PDC of the domain at the root of the forest. Configure to sync from external time soruce using the net command 'net time /setsntp:<server name>'
I assume this has to do with syncronizining the clock on the server with an atomic clock somewhere. Can someone tell me in detail how and where to use this net command so that we will not recieve this error.

Exactly. You'll find a list of public NTP (Net Time Protocol) servers at http://ntp.isc.org/bin/vie
To configure your machine to sync with one of these servers, pick one from the list (e.g. for the US: us.pool.ntp.org) and set it with the aforementioned command (in a console window);
net time /setsntp:us.pool.ntp.org
or
net time /setsntp:65.175.0.112
This will make your machine synchrinize with the server you specify.
