Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI am running Windows 2000 Professional and something has hijacked the Shift+Ctrl keys. No matter what I am doing, if I hold Shift+Ctrl, the speaker beeps about once a second. Needless to say I can't use any text editing features that use Shift+Ctrl (selecting text by word for example - Shift+Ctrl+Arrow). I have restarted in safe mode with no change. I have disabled all startup programs with no joy, it still does it. I can't see anything in the task manager processes that is out of place.
Any suggestions?

try this, boot into safemode, login with your user account, open My Computer>Tools>Folder Options and choose Show Hidden Files & untick Hide Protected Operating System
now open C: drive and you should be able to see a Recycler folder, open it
can you some more recycle bin folders here, open each of them one by one and delete everything they contain
restart back in normal mode now. is recycle bin looking empty now?
