I set the presmision to Everyone (read and apply group policy), but the policy does not apply to the users. What am I going wrong?

Setup Group policy
This is what I have done
In Active directory I right click on the fold that i want to create the policy, then goto property then Group policy
Then I Created a group policy and configer.
Now what do I do, I cant rember can some one help. Also is there a dos command to force auto refesh of the group policy?

Organisational unit - in active directory users and computers - you can create your own containers as well as the default containers like users and Computers and Domain Controllers. I am going to suggest using the GPMC - but you will need an admin logon -yes. It's by far the best way to troubleshoot group policy application. Are you trying to set policies for users or computers - ie in user configuration or computer configuration? Are you also using the default domain policy?

Do you mean you added an additional policy link to the default domain controllers policy? Or to the default users container? Ideally you should limit changes to the default domain policy to password policies as that policy affects everyone. You can't set policies on the default users or computers containers. Right-click your domain object in aduc. Select new - Organisational Unit. Then attach you new policy to this unit and move the users that you want it to apply to into this new container. Ensure they have read and apply rights to the policy and ensure that settings in the default domain policy aren't overriding policies set here.

Ensure that whoever the policy is intended for resides in that container you just set the policy on, has read and apply group policy permissions and the dos prompt is
secedit /refreshpolicy computer_policy or secedit /refreshpolicy user_policy
