chkdsk on windows server 2003 std edition

hii
are there any aftermaths of running chkdsk on disk with windows 2003 std edition installed. i got event no 57 logged (source: ftdisk) in the event viewer a few times. i'm just concerned running it coz i just found a post here which said that all the permissions on files were reset after running this command.
