Zone: Windows 2000 Operating System

I have been using Net use lpt1: \\xxxx\xxx /persistent:yes and it works fine for the past few month. However a month ago the connection to lpt1 keep dropping and i have to check using Net Use command on the connection and reconnect by keying in Net use lpt1: \\xxxx\xxx /persistent:yes
I am running on window XP and the print out is on a DOS application. What can i do to solve this problem?
