Browse All TopicsI have an application that requires comctl32.dll (6.0.2900.2180). However, I want this to run on a win2000 system that has a 5.x version. In XP the application runs via the WinSxS folder, allowing multiple versions. On the 2000 machine, I tried a copy-on-boot program, but it's failing to copy the file I need. How can I get an application using the correct version of the DLL, or simply replace the old DLL with the required?

You can try if you can place the comctl32.dll into your application folder, so that one is taken first. However, there might be a lot of conflicts with kernel or other DLLs.
