How to remote from a Window Xp Pro to a Windows 2000?

Okay, The vpn router is all set up and everything.. But when I try remoting to a windows 2000 it would not let me. Everything should be fine because I remote from xp pro to xp pro, and this is the first time im experiencing about xp pro to win 2000?

Help please

Windows 2000 does not have a remote desktop server so you cant remote desktop into it - but you can connect to other machines such as XP or 2000/2003 servers

KCTS is correct about the remote desktop "into" win 2000 machine .However Microsoft had released a remote desktop client for windows 2000 and earlier version. This will allow you to remote into other Windows XP and later machines from the 2000 machine.

since Win 2000 doesn't come with remote desktop server, you need to use some third party software instead, like RealVNC and UltraVNC, as they are free.  Download the installation file and install the VNC server in your Win 2000.  Then install the VNC client in your Win XP.  UltraVNC also provides file transfer and java viewer features.

Since the asker was trying to remote INTO a Win2000 machine the TSCLIENT will be of no use.

Use VNC instead http://www.realvnc.com/
