I doubt that you will get peformance if you disable it, but it wont hurt if you don't have IDE Devices
Sata IDE mode is equal to (SATA Compatible) mode in other BIOSes, which means that it keeps the IDE Controller online and detects IDE Controller connected devices during the POST Process.
Like i said, if you don't have IDE Devices, its safe to disabled it, then your SATA will run in enhanced native mode.
