Why does the Epson CX7400 and HP C309a only come with XP/Vista drivers? Can either of these OS's be faked into the Windows 2003 Printer Setup?
I also have my son's older HP Deskject 4260 and it also seems to be missing a Printer driver.
Was the Windows 2003 server never designed to service standard industry printers?

These types of printers are meant for home use and therefore they only come with drivers for desktop OS's.
For some such printers you can use a generic driver that is already included in Windows 2003, but you'll only get the basic functions for printing, and not for faxing or scanning. Some multi-function printers include a built-in NIC, so then you can connect the printer to the LAN without having to share it through the server and worry about drivers. Those printers usually also include a software that allows XP and Vista boxes to use all it's functions like fax and scanner via the LAN.
If you do need to use the printer on the server, HP should be able to tell you which driver you can use for it. For most products you can use their online chat system which is the easiest way to get such info. How epson handles this I don't know...
