Blue Screen of Death

I'm getting more and more often the above screen. One of the error messages I got was the following:

0x0000000A (0xE3A4A6B4) 0x000000FF 00000000, 0x80464130 IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

I don't believe its a virus since I'm running an antivirus. Any help would be appreciated. Best Wishes.

Does it matter what you are doing when this error shows up? Any changes to the computer (hardware or software wise) recently?

You can try removing your device drivers and reinstalling them to see if it helps. It seems to be a conflict with the devices.

No it does not matter what I'm doing. Its happening quite often. Everything is the same except for one new DVD writer. I'm thinking that it could be something hardware related. Perhaps memory or hard drive even the motherboard.

can you post a recent minidump?   from c:\windows\minidumps  ?   attaxh as file, but rename the extension to txt first !

I'd suspect memory or motherboard or PSU.

You can test memory with the UBCD.

Get the UBCD http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/

Download links are the icons at the top of the page above Overview.  Browse the page and see what utils are there for you.  Check the memory and utils especially.

Make the CD and boot from it.  Run the memory tester first - memtest -  and let it do two to three passes through your memory.  Memory could be the problem so get that test done first.

There are a number of other utils on the disk you can use to stress the motherboard.  Try those if the memory proves OK.

Sorry fellas...that particular computer crashed on me meaning that now it won't power up. The board appears to be kaput and maybe the power supply too.
