Good Day Folks,<br />

I am in the process of setting up a lab for training purposes (for myself) a windows 2000 server lab to be specific.<br />
<br />
I'm setting up 3 systems which would be 2 servers and 1 client machine..<br />
<br />
Now the guide that I have recommends the that i use 2000 server on the server machines and 2000 pro on the client machine but i know that 2000 is way old and alot of hardware today isn't compatible and drivers would be hard to find..<br />
<br />
My question is, would it be possible to set this up using virtual machines and still be able to replicate whats in the guide so that I could benefit fully from the instructions???<br />

Windows 2000 Sever Lab Setup

Windows 2000 is an operating system for use on both client and server computers. It is the successor to Windows NT 4.0, and is the last version of Microsoft Windows to display the "Windows NT" designation. Four editions of Windows 2000 were released (Professional, Server, Advanced Server, and Datacenter Server) that shared a core set of features, including many system utilities such as the Microsoft Management Console. All versions of the operating system support NTFS 3.0, Encrypting File System, as well as basic and dynamic disk storage. The Windows 2000 Server family includes support for Active Directory services, Distributed File System and fault-redundant storage volumes.

Windows 2000

Windows Server 2003 was based on Windows XP and was released in four editions: Web, Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter. It also had derivative versions for clusters, storage and Microsoft’s Small Business Server. Important upgrades included integrating Internet Information Services (IIS), improvements to Active Directory (AD) and Group Policy (GP), and the migration to Automated System Recovery (ASR).

Windows Server 2003

Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2, based on the Microsoft Vista codebase, is the last 32-bit server operating system released by Microsoft. It has a number of versions, including including Foundation, Standard, Enterprise, Datacenter, Web, HPC Server, Itanium and Storage; new features included server core installation and Hyper-V.
