How to AutoLogin?

I tried to hack the Registry to make my computer to login automatically. But I'm afraid it does only work on Windows NT?

use the Network tab and enter the login information.

but remember that this is a SECURITY HOLE

Win 98 is one big security hole anyway.
Making it a little bit bigger won't hurt !

Before downloading Tweak_UI: the only thing it does is: hacking the registry. So, what is that registry hack?

If your password is empty you can get rid of login prompt
by setting "Windows logon" as primary in Control Panel/Network.

IN the registry Directory, here is my Key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Winlogon

Here are the values:
AutoAdminLogon: 1
DefaultUserName: <yourusername>


P.S. Please note this is off a Win98 Machine.

TweakUI is the easiest way to do this, you find what you are looking for on the network tab of this fine little addon.

If you still have the Windows 98 CD, TweakUI is included on the CD, just not documented anywhere...  Microsoft didn't want to support it, so made no reports of it being on their CD.

Goto:  \tools\reskit\powertoy

RIght-Click on the tweakui.inf and select INSTALL.....
