With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. installing 98

I presently have win 95 no fat 32. I have 2 hard drives in my system. C drive is 1.6 gig and my D drive is 6 gig broken up into 3 partions.

I just purchase a 8 gig drive to replace my C drive. Here is what I want to do.

Install 98, which is the full install CD,  over my 95 system because I want to use the fat32 system and I dont want to lose my registerly enteries and system dat files also shortcuts.

Also I dont want to reload all my programs which will take hours to due. Also some of my software have upgrades which I can't find.

steps I have done
I installed the 8 gig drive and made a 2 gig partion fat16.
Next I copy my C drive information to it made it bootable.
It boots OK system operates ok.

Next when I tried to Installed 98  I told me their was alreadly a operating system installed. It Kick me out of the Install.

If I understand correctly this can be done And it wont screw up my old regesteries, ini files, any any other files pointing to apps.
