DUN disconnects when idle

I'm sure there is a simple nswer that I am missing here, but..

I am running W98 SE.  After about two minutes of being idle I get disconnected.  My modem is a Conexant v.90/56.  The spot in modem setting where you can select to disconnect is NOT checked (in fact it is grayed). The problem is specific to this PC, as other PCs are not having the issue.
