vxd error

When I boot up win98 I get the message vxd cant perform the calibration of dam. What is going on? video error? I have a Biostar M5SAB motherboard with AMD K6-2 CPU at 450Mhz and 128MB RAM.

Yes please tell us the full error message word for word & also can you still continue into Windows or is it stopping there ?

You may have removed a program improperly or deleted files for a program, and these files are needed when you reboot the win98. You can either to reinstall the program that you may deleted a file from it or recording the **.vxd key and go to the registry and remove it from there.

That was the full error message. Thanks HaryMary I will check it out and no windows doesn't lock up. I see no problems other than the message that shows when I boot up sometimes, not all the time.
