Runing Win98SE but I dont have it on disk. I have a CD-RW. Id like to back up Windows and all the updates including my current win media player, IE browser and so on. Would I be able to do this and load it properly if I lost everything? What folders do I need to copy and how would I reload?

I checked into this once... using some software called Nero Burning Rom you can copy your whole partition to CD-RW's and update them as often as you want, even by dragging and dropping files to it.
However, since my partition was 5GB, it told me that i needed like 114 cd's or so to do this, so I aborted the mission.

Norton Ghost will image the drive, compress the image, span it if need be. The image(s) file can be copied to CD-R. Norton will also provide the boot disks to reclaim the images in the event of system crash.
It works. I tried it. We also use Ghost in this way to 'pre-install' our identical office systems with a ready to go Windows system.
Norton can also ignor the rubbish, swap files, temp files etc.
It is very good in fact.

There are a number of ways to do that, with propably the easiest
being using your cd software.
Adaptec4, full version walks you right thru it, as well as using the win98 backup to make a backup file and putting on cd.
Drive Image ab=n others are out there as well.
Check what you now have on your drive, and see if any of it is to your liking.
