Navidad virus

I'm trying to help my friend with her home computer virus. She is running Windows 95 on her 486 processor (2.3 gig hard drive, half full). Upon booting up Windows, she get an error message (5 times, each time Windows tries to load a program in startup) "Windows cannot find winsvrc.exe" I had brought McAfee Virus software on CD, but of course, with this virus, Windows can't run ANY programs within Windows ... I WAS able to get online, however, and up to McAfee's sight and did a virus scan from online which found three corrupt files:
WINDOWS/SYSTEM/winsvrc.exe
WINDOWS/SYSTEM/sinsvrc.vxd and
WINDOWS/TEMP/Navidad.exe
Since McAfee couldn't "clean" the files, I deleted them. We were STILL getting the error messages (that Windows couldn't find winsvrc.exe) and NO program will run within Windows. I went online again to another sit and did another scan from online with the latest and greatest updates and it found no viruses. At that point I had spent over three hours at her house and was late picking up my granddaughter to go see Jim Carrey in the GRINCH (*smile*) I told her about Experts Exchange (she can't access her email, though, because she can't boot up Outlook). So I'm posing the question for her. By the way, we went out and bought Windows 98 Upgrade which, of course, we were not able to install within Windows because we can't run ANY programs in Windows, and it won't install directly off the CD rom. I dread - absolutely dread - having to format her hard drive, as she doesn't know where the disks are which contain drivers for her various hardware, etc., etc. Can anyone help?
