The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. Unable to install win98

Hello Experts

I do not know what's going on, let me state that first!
I just reassembled an old gateway Pentium-200mmx with 64megs system that been down and apart since I built a new system and had removed the hd, cd burner & ZIP100.  I put it back together with the original 2.5gig western digital hd, floppy, 12x mitsumi cd, just as I brought it from Gateway in 1997, I did not change any cards on the mobo. Originally the system came with WIN95 installed but I was running win98 before I removed the components mentioned above. I just want to start out fresh and load a few kids programs so they can have their own system to work with.

Now the problems
I have a boot disk, WIN98 cd, but I cannot get past a c: or a: prompt to get WIN98 loaded what could I be doing wrong?  I tryed fdisk, then format, which I have done before on other systems and got windows up and running.  I have also tryed ez-drive & ez-bios that I have from a different hd that I installed and got up and running.  I have a headache, this cannot be this difficult.  I need some very basic HELP here.  I am very lost and confused at this time.  If you think I can be helped, please explain and or provide simple easy to follow instructions or links for the info that might help me.
