mayb u can try this
1. Put the startup disk into a: drive
2. Start your computer
3. You’ll come to a screen asking whether you want to start with some option, press 2 and hit enter.
4. Next you’ll see a black screen with this in screen a:\> Type in sys c: and hit enter
Eg. a:\>sys c: and enter
5. After this, go to c: and you’ll have to do these:
Eg. c: and enter you’ll be able to see this after doing this, c:\>
Then in c:\> key in these: path=c:\windows;c:\windows
6. Once done you’ll be able to see c:\> again, then do this:
Eg. attrib –r –s –h msdos.sys and enter
7. Then type edit msdos.sys and enter
8. You’ll be able to see a blue screen, pls check whether there is any thing like this, otherwise type in the whole thing and save it.
Eg. [paths]
windir=c:\windows
winbootdir=c:\windows
hostwinbootdrv=c
[options]
bootgui=1
9. After typing all of the above, press Alt + F and choose exit. When prompt whether to save changes, press y and enter
10. Having done no. 9, you’ll have to key in these in order to hide the msdos.sys:
Eg. attrib +r +s +h msdos.sys and enter (u'll have to restart ur com after all these)
