Question
Windows protection fault when adding ram
I often get the error when adding additional RAM to a win98 machine.
(on a black screen before the desktop loads)
"Windows protection error - you need to restart your computer".
I used to think that this was faulty ram but i've had this happen on quite a few different pcs using different makes of ram etc. Remove the extra ram and the fault goes away.
Is this actualy faulty ram (if so then 80% of my memory stock is faulty) or am i missing something.
