Browse All Topicshi , I jus installed windows 98 in my ctx 700e laptop , during boot up it did not detect the cd rom , at fist it did , but then it just did not detect the cd rom any more , so I had to install win98 from an external cd rom drive , my question is did I do something wrong ,or did the internal cd rom just broke during the process of installing win98 , when I press the eject button in the internal cd rom it works , so , it is a swappable internal drive , but if it responds to the eject button , it is not completely deth , I think ??? what can I do to find out if the internal drive has to be replace , or if there is anything that can do to fix it , thanks

Tap DEL at startup to enter Bios.
Check if it's seen there.
If it is, probably it's OK.
Maybe worth checking all the cables and connectors, unplug them and plug them back, making sure they are firmly set.
