Where are those hidden files that take my space in Windows 98?

Windows 98 machine: C:\ and D:\
D:\ has 1GB capacity
Windows 98 is warning of space be running out.
I already configure Windows Explorer to show all files in folder options. It shows D:\ has only about 80MB files in it but only 24MB free space. That means I miss 900MB space.
Q#1. Where are the lost space?
