Hello there i have a problem i hope u can help me fixing it please i have a two computers the first one is windows xp installed and the other one windows98 i shared a printer on window xp and i install it by network on the windows 98 pc but there is a problem while printing the print timeout period is 15 Seconds but it is greyed and i cannot change it please help me how can i fix this problem ?????????????????????

Thanks for you evilrix but before i was not facing this problem it's new i also reinstall the driver again as i told you before the printer is connected directly to a winxp computer and it is installed by network on win98 and before on win98 there is not any problem but i told you this is new problem timeout for printing and u can call it delay before printing 15seconds and i cannot change it because it's greyed so please help me as soon as possible pleaseee

As I understand it, when you installed the printer on the Win98 machine from the XP machine it would have used the XP driver and this is where the issue lays. I am not; however, a Windows expert so rather than confuse the issue with my conjecture I will leave it at that and let the real experts (of which MASQUERAID is one) help you.
Please clarify ... was the printer ever connected directly to the Win 98 machine and set up? Did it work then? If so was that option enabled then?
It is worth trying to install the printer as the first expert recommended. The setting may just be disabled for shared network printing in Windows 98. The XP driver may not have that limitation, although I believe it will be the same. Timeout and other settings aren't often enabled when the printer is a shared, network printer.
What is the setting when looked at in XP? What are you trying to change by adjusting that setting? Remember that when the printer is a shared, network one the client machine will not usually do much more than just send it to the other computer. Any delay or timeout issue is usually with the network or host machine, at least from my experience.

This is because Win98 is unaware of the XP printer driver that post-dates it. If the Printer was on the 98 machine and shared to the XP PC you would have more luck.
