3.11 to ME Network

WindowsForWorkGroups 3.11 and Windows Millenium Edition.

These two are compatible for the function that I need but I do know not to use a 3 1/2 old or new floppy that has a boot sector on it. That's the catch, the boot sector is not compatible so the function goes no further, that throws people off but the files are compatible. You get various notices of it's unreadability from both puters if you use a boot sector disk.
3.11 can read .doc and .txt from WordPad or NotePad from ME (minus the document formatting, the hidden formatting code in the .doc document comes out in the document on 3.11 as visible code) and Word for DOS .doc and .txt is compatible too. Also, ME can read a .wri or .doc or .txt, from 3.11 Write Word Processor or Word for DOS and .pif fits in there somewhere but I was happy with what I had so I went to bed and will look into that later. All with no added programs or software, just click save and switch disk to the other puter. Plus if you have Adobe Acrobat Reader 3.1 you can read WFWG's 3.11 Write Word Processor files on ME but I never cared for Adobe, don't need it for this application anyhow but Adobe 3.1 will still read it.
So now that I settled that issue, I want to network these two computers. I'm not interested in speed or ultra modern technology to get this done. The 3.11 will not be on the internet, it will just sit there and hold information that I can access in the formats listed above. A database so to speak.

So here are the available connection ports/outlets on each puter.

Windows ME:
1 USB port.
One 9 pin (male) serial port.
One 15 pin Game MIDI Port. (female receptacle)

WFWG 3.11
1 serial A port, 9 pin. (male)
1 serial B port, 25 pin. (male)
1 parallel port, 25 pin. (female receptacle)
