ME Media required for a repair or re-install -- already have valid OS "key"

Dear All,

I have a client's older HP laptop with a corrupted ME OS. Can no longer order the "recover" CD set from HP nor Ambrey, so since the key is present, would like to attempt a repair / install or, failing that, a full new re-install of ME.

My problem is that I have no ME media. I never sold it while it was a "current and support" OS! Microsoft refuses to sell me a Media-Only CD, as it is an OEM installation. Wrongly, I feel.

All I need is a "media kit" -- an ME CD -- no key! This should be SO simple!! Or so I thought ...
