The Ontrack DDO was originally installed using Seagate Disk Wizard but I have never found Seagate support (Asia-Pacific) at all useful - always answered by `Solved by Rules'????
Had been using an ME PC with a newish 80Gb Seagate ATA drive and the Ontrack DDO for months when suddenly it would not boot (there is a potential reason for a disk `corruption').
Installed the drive on an XP PC as a second drive and recovered some important data files using `FIle Scavenger'.
But, I also want to recover ME if possible as it contains all the updates which may no longer be available from MS (I need ME for software testing).
I used Disk Wizard on an empty 80Gb drive in the hope of obtaining an `uncorrupted' copy of the DDO. I copied up to and including the Boot Sector from the empty drive and `pasted' that into the same place on the old drive. It still did not boot!
a) Can anyone suggest a way of re-installing the DDO without destroying Windows. (Note, the Maintenance section of the Seagate diskette based DIsk Wizard has the DDO item greyed out).
b) Can anyone refer me to documentation which explains how the Ontrack DDO interfaces with the FAT32 file system and Windows?
