Question

net use LPT1 /delete don't work persistent

Asked by: cbo

Hi,
for a long time I have run the command:
"net use LPT1 \\Server\printer_name /persistant:yes"
Now I don't need this printer anymore. Every time, when I boot my computer, I must run the command "net use LPT1 /delete", because I use a local printer on LPT1.

How can I run the command "net use LPT1 /delete" persistant? There are no entry in the registry for "printer_name", that can be deleted... And the printer "printer_name" is deleted in my printer-folder.

bye cbo

2 ways to solve it
1. get rid of the enrty in the logon script

2. put the batch file you've created in your startup directory.

by: BlackManPosted on 1999-02-10 at 08:02:17ID: 1798701

Hmm, I think dramsden deserves the 50 points, after all, he did a good job trying to identify your problem..

by: dramsdenPosted on 1999-02-10 at 08:04:39ID: 1798702

Created the following batch file with one line

Net use LPT1 /del

and save it to
 c:\winnt4\profiles\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
If no one uses it OR
Change All Users to your Userid if it's just for you.

Oh go on give me all the points (Just for the speed of responces)
