The failure and event logging is instant and no impact on the ESM 10K (as far as I can say it 100% normal)but the error is logged in the Event viewer as (this event gets logged every 4-5min). Just to mention that the error is continuos and thus not started only when the file share is started:
Cluster resource 'File Share' failed
Event ID:1069
Source: CluSvc
Do you mean the “Looks alive pole interval”. If so the setting: specify 5000 ms.
The problem is more involved (I joined the company when it was set up this why), but I will try and explain. I know that MSCS you can have Resource type: File share (have a path)– The idea is to have a continuos share within the shared disk environment. But they keep on telling me that the share gets dropped and that is way they have set it up as follows:
The ones concerned are only listed in the Cluster Group:
Name: Resource Type:
Disk I, J Physical Disk
File Share Generic Service
In the Generic Service, under the TAB Parameters, the Batch file has been set-up. The batch files contains command line requests like “net share” to connect the shares automatically. So every time the shares get lost a reconnection is made automatically.
Thanks again for trying to listen to this. I know that not being in front of the system is difficult but trying to explain this mess is even more.

Looks like the cluster is failing whn polling the file share, it's possible that aservice that is installed requires this share to be visible, the IsAlive poll is fialing and the cluster craps itself.
It's be nice to know the following:
1) What state was the E10k in whn the service failed
2) What id your setting for "looks alive" in the service properties, you may have it set to the service type I'd recommend setting it manually to a sensible level.
Does this error occur when you start the file share? If so double check the path, if the path for the file share is wrong the cluster fails.
It also seems that the resource is part of the cluster group, generally only three things should be:
cluster name
cluster ip
Physical disk (quorum)
It might be worth moving anything else to a seperate group and also making sure that you have a seperate disk defined for the quorum and having this is the cluster group.
Apologies if this all seeems a little random it's difficult without having the box in front of me.
