Remote Access Connection Manager Missing DLL's - Event ID 20032

After the removal of some IBM remote communications software (thru Uninstall Wizard), I can no longer access the Internet or configure an external modem on the PC's Com Ports. Event Viewer lists Event ID 20032, "Remote Access Connection Manager failed to start because it could not load one or more communication DLL's.  If problem persists, reinstall the Remote Access Service. Any idea how to proceed? If need be how to install the Remote Access Service?  OS - NT 4.0 SP6A.  Thanks.

I would do the ras reinstall in this order

1. remove ras service
2. restart the computer and remove any modems
3. re-apply sp6a
4. install the modem
5. test the modem before installing ras by using the phone dialer
6. if step 5 passed, then install ras and reapply sp6a
7. if step 5 failed, then you have an NT problem that is affecing the communications with the com ports, the fix will be reinstalling NT
