Hi,
I have several NT SP6 machines which have recently begun displaying the following error and which occurs while the logon scripts are running:-
Windows Script Host
Script: ....vbs
Line: ....
Char ....
Error: Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service.
Code: 800705AA
Source: (null)
Clicking 'OK' allows the scripts to finish and the user to carry on as normal.
These boxes all have 128MB of RAM or higher.
I have already done some investigation and I gather this problem may be connected to improper Registry quota and VM / paging file settings.

The reason why I am asking this question is that I have a suspicion this is stopping an application called SAP 6.20 from launching. It's a huge app (for the environment / platform it is being deployed to) and is resource intensive.

Did a quick search on SAP 6.20 and the memory requirements are close to what you have in real memory, that with NT's requirements probably maxed everything out. The constant paging there after will definitely slow things down to a crawl.

good point... funny though I think around that time MS recommented that the page file be about 110% of real memory. I usually had it set at twice the RAM as a minimum and 4 times the RAM as the maximum, giving in this config 256-512. The MS memory management at that time was not awe inspiring.
Oddly, this appears to be happening during startup; so I wonder what besides the OS and this SAP product is attempting to allocate memory.
Another thing that can be done to reduce resource usage is delete all temp files and internet temp files. Anything thing else will have to be done with caution... e,g, profiles, 3d party app services and the like.
