Windows Event Logging Script

I am looking for a script to monitor ONLY the errors / warnings within the windows 2000 server event logs and send the notification from the server to a specified email address. Basically, i need to have this as a monitoring notification to know whenever any failure happens on the server.

Infact, am not that expert in scripting yet if possible just to provide me with a script that has an example of one of the errors so I can know how to use it.
