Hello
I am trying to allow users to install network printers on their login via a login script but I keep getting an issue which i believe is a rights issue.
I have a Windows XP client SP2 connecting to an server 2003 AD running in mixed mode so i cannot use deploy printers.
I have a policy that has the computer settings for "prevent users install local printers" disabled.
I checked on the client via gpresult and gpupdate and i see that the setting is applied. Unfortunately this is the default domain policy and not the test GPO i had created...
which is weird because i can get the test gpo to deploy for the user settings but for some reason the computer settings only seem to happen from the default policy... but thats another issue.
though if that can be solved it may help troubleshooting become easier.
But everytime i try to run a script that either uses the printui.dll OR the addwindowsprinter command to add a network printer i keep getting an error of "windows cannnot open this program due to software restrictions".
Im not sure what im missing and where i should be looking.
Please any help would be greatly appreciated
