The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. As you do, the rating will be adjusted and will become more accurate for other members of our site.

If you have any suggestions that you would like to make for our rating system, please ask a question in the Suggestions Zone of Community Support.

Thank you!

How to recover mailbox from Exchange 5.5

Asked by AliceGoodspeed in Exchange Email Server, Windows NT Operating System

Tags: Exchange, 5.5, Recover, Restore, Mailbox

Hi,
I have one Exchange 5.5 server running in our system on a NT4 operative system. A user need to have the mailbox recovered but i have never done this in a Exchange 5.5 environment before. He has a new mailbox right now so he can work. His old one has crashed. So i need to export the old one into the new one.

I have searched on google for one week almost and got little bit more clever about this.

I understod that i need another recovery server in the domain so i did the following.
1. Installed NT4 on a server
2. Installed IIS
3. Installed Exchange 5.5 in recovery mode (didn't put same organization name and site name)

I now wonder. Do i have to put the same organization and site name in my recovery Exchange 5.5 server as i have in my Exchange 5.5? If i put the same org and site name, what effect will it have in my Exchange environment and is there a risk to interfere with my live Exchange 5.5 server.
After that it should be an easy job with Exmerge to export the mailbox to an pst file and then import it to the new mailbox.

Best regards, Alice
