I386 directory!?

I am running out of space on my hard drive and I want to upgrade from sp3 to sp4. what is the use of the I386 directory? Can I delete the files there or does NT use these files from time to time all thery are is setup files right? they do take a heck of alot of space. and do I need to uninstall sp3 before installing sp4??Start Free Trial
