CDrW only writes and wont read.

My mother-in-law got a comp recently but a small prob has arisen. Her husband wants to play games but for some reason the CDrW refuses to read any CD's. Now the comp has a second drive (DVD) but the games seem determined to be in the CD tray and wont work from the DVD drive.
