network connectivity in NT 4.0??

Hi,
Can you help me, i have got a old NT 4.0 server on the network that was taken out of the domain for maintenance in the comms room. The server was installed back on to the domain but for some reason i cannot get connectivity to the network, but i have checked the following;
network cable ok
link light on network card... ok
port.... ok

Can you please try and point me in the right direction cos this is driving me mad.
