- The Number of Experts Contributing
- The Feedback of the Community

Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. I am creating a custom XP install disc to be able to load our Company version of XP easily with patches, custom settings, etc. I have spent the day following online instructions and I am real close. I created a winnt.sif file to provide the data, but we want to install XP on the C: drive and the documents and settings on D: for easy reloading of the OS. I have the location set to D: in the winnt.sif file, but now my question:
When setup runs (with AutoPartition=0), it let's me create the 2 partitions, but it will only format c: (since it is installing to it). Later in the install I get an error message "Unable to load the product catalog", which after much testing I determined was due to the D partition not being formatted. So... is there a way to clean install onto new machines without this problem? If I need to create the partitions BEFORE installing XP, what do I use?
