Hi Ben,
The network "card" I would like to "add" is an onboard network "card" (port).
How do I get it into a state of (promting) for inserting the drivers?

When I install a network driver, after restarting the pc I loose the mouse control and the PC stops responding.
I then do a cold boot and go into safe mode.
I think you may be right about the IRQ, as I am trying various network drivers to find a compatible one.
The drivers may be causing some sort of a conflict.

Hi dude,
You will need to find a network card which is NT version 4 compatible.
Shutdown the PC, remove the power cable and open the case. Locate the closest PCI/ISA port to the processor which is not being used and insert the card.
When the machine reboots you will be prompted to install new hardware. Insert the drivers CD, select the "Have Disk" option for driver install and proceed through the standard driver installation.
