There is no such place to specify a masquerade domain name. Wish there was.

Specifically, our server announces mail.domain1.com and our email domain is domain2.com, hosted elsewhere.

You may also want to check the firewall that protects your Exchange 5.5 server. Some fwalls offer you the option to modify the banner and display whatever you want.

It's been a while since I worked with 5.5 but there should be a place to specify the masquerade domain name in the IMC. This will cause the server to identify itself by the name you specify.
