Install IIS on Win XP Pro SP2 PC
I am trying to install IIS (Internet Information Services) on a PC that is running WIN XP Pro SP2. I get the error "Setup cannot copy the file staxmem.dll" along with more similar messages. In doing research I found a MS Knowledge Base article that addressed this issue (#894351). Seemingly files from both SP1 and SP2 must be availalbe simultaneously. I have successfully followed all of the steps until the last step, which states "At the command prompt, type the foloowing command, and then press ENTER: xpsp2 /integrate:Drive:\winxp " I get the response that xpsp2 is not recognized as an external or internal command, which I was not surprised at. So, my question is, What is the proper command to use here?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.

Whatever filename you gave the XPSP2 package. You have to execute the SP2 installer with those flags to slipstream it.
Btw, in your command, "Drive"\winxp means the actual path the winxp files are in.
If you put the contents of the cd in c:\winxp, and named the SP2 installer sp2.exe the command would be
sp2.exe /integrate:c:\winxp
If you put the contents of the cd in c:\winxp, and named the SP2 installer sp2.exe the command would be
sp2.exe /integrate:c:\winxp

I had exactly the same problem...
You may receive the "Setup cannot copy the file staxmem.dll" error message when you try to install IIS on a computer that is running Windows XP Professional with SP2
This issue may occur when one of the following conditions is true: " The Secedit.sdb database file is corrupted.
" The Windows Components Wizard (Sysocmgr.exe) must install files in such a way that both the original Windows XP Professional CD and the Windows XP Professional SP2 CD must be available.

My CD Drive is D: I copied the files off the Win XP Pro SP1 CD to the folder I created, C:\winxp\i386.
So, at the command prompt, I have showing "D: xpsp2 /integrate:C:\winxp\i386", with the WinXP Pro SP2 cd in the drive. I still get the response that xpsp2 is not a valid command. I have searched for xpsp2 on the CD, but only get a dl_ file that has xpsp2 within the file name (XPSP2res.dl_). Obviously I am still doing something wrong, but do not know what.
So, at the command prompt, I have showing "D: xpsp2 /integrate:C:\winxp\i386",

Thanks for the contributions. I did not get slipstreaming to work per se, but prior to JanSchotsmans last post, I did get IIS to install. The posts got my on the right track at least.
