Browse All TopicsSomeone is trying to sell a copy of windows to me at a discounted price. He claim he has bought extra and willing to sell it at a big discount.
He can show me the COA and the CD such. I still have doubt that it may be registered. Is there a way to check if the copy of the windows is registered prior to buying it or installing it ?

That will tell whether the software is a *genuine* Microsoft product. This site will also help someone determine the same thing:

Neither of these will tell whether the software has been previously *installed or registered*. There is no way to tell if the previous owner installed the software on another system or registered it after doing so.
