XP "My Computer" not showing C: drive / but is OK in "explore"

I am cleaning up a computer that had viruses, etc.
One thing that happened is that the C: drive disappeared from the "My Computer
It is accessible through Start\explore

I'd like to get it back showing up in My Computer.  The question is, how?

Where is "User Configuration"??
Did you try my suggestion with TweakUI?  If that didn't work, then I'll answer your question for w33mhz:

To get to User Configuration (you need XP Pro, not XP Home! and you didn't specify which you are using...):

go to Start -> Run -> type GPEDIT.MSC -> you'll find Computer Configuration and User Configuration on the lefthand side of the explorer-like window.  Open up User Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Explorer;  click on that and one of the options will be "Hide these specified drives from My Computer".
Some variants of smitfraud does this too.
You can run smitfraudfix and it will remove all restrictions set by the nasties. Run option 2.

You can also check in your registry for this key and remove the value set
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\
NoDrives
Thanks!!  TweakUI did it.
Be careful when suggesting software to download, rpggamergirl. The link you provide gets a program which actually is or carry a virus. Check it out and see. My antivir detected a couple of viruses (downloaders) when I was saving the file on my computer.

Vicbig,

Thank you for your unnecessary concern. I would never give a bogus link and have users download an infected file.
Your Antivir's alert is a false positive. Smitfraudfix.exe from the author's site is clean. Any tools that use process.exe like Smitfraudfix, SDFix etc will be flagged by antivirus as some risks tool.

Please read the author's note. And if you're still bothered with it, please don't use smitfraudfix.exe.

Note:
process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool". It is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

Thank you. I should've read the the whole explanation.
