Windows network setting - DHCP or PPPoE

Hi,

I have a friend and family who use version dsl and I need to know their Verizon DSL connection DHCP or PPPoE in the following OS systems:

Windows 2000
Windows XP
Windows Vista

I thought DHCP connection doesnt require id and password, but what if PPPoE connection login automatically? How do I know whether DSL connection is DHCP or PPPoE? For home pc with verizon dsl always connect internet server by using PPPoE?
